Circa: 1940

The Neon Advertising Clock was patented in 1940 by Mannie E. Winger of the Electric Neon Clock Company. This particular early unit is still running strong. It features a porcelain enamel steel body with a Retro Aztec Design, an inner glow of green neon and an outer band of pink neon. A hand lettered panel would adorn the top of the clock as they were used as signage for local businesses such as local diners and for the promotion of advertisers at public venues such as movie theaters.
