Ace Sign Co. was selected by the city of Frederick, Maryland to re-imagine a new Theatre Marquee at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. From weinbergcenter.org, "the Weinberg Center for the Arts is regarded as the City of Frederick's home for the peforming arts, a source of entertainment and pride for the community. The Historic 1926 movie palace is home to year-round quality entertainment including professional music, dance, theater, classic movies, and family entertainment." The new marquee was designed and fabricated at Ace Sign Company's facility in Springfield, IL and was installed in partnership with Gelberg Signs out of Washington, D.C. A thoughtful design process looked to the historical aspects of the venue, with a classic approach that honored the historic architecture while bringing a 'wow factor' to the previously outdated marquee. An upper blade sign and lower canopy marquee offer bold visibility, featuring both a modern and classic construction style. The marquees are fabricated of steel with laser cut aluminum cladding, LED Bulbs, Digital Readerboards, and Push-thru acrylic lettering, with its most unique feature being its underside ceiling with vintage back-lit panels.
